Happy Birthday Dr. Suess!

I'm pretty sure I learned my gift for prose from all the Dr. Suess books I read as a kid. So, I thought I thought it only fitting to honor his birthday with a poem from me to him!

The Cat in the Hat sits next to me.
Thing One and Thing Two are out by the sea.
I just saw Mr. Sam I am.
Sitting with Sally eating Green Eggs and Ham.
It was the Grinch I was on my way to meet.
He lives with Maxx on Mulberry Street.
Bartholomew is sitting down on the rocks.
He's now best friends with the Fox in Sox.
Horton and Pop and King Looie Katz
Cindy Lou Hoo, The Lorax and even the Zax
Yertle the Turtle and Gertrude McFuzz
Are all coming over, they've heard all the buzz
For someone's having a birthday today
Who is it you ask, who is it I shall say
No it's not the birthday of a Cheif Yookeroo
But it's the birthday of ole Dr. Suess!
So, I will not sing it on a plane.
I will not sing it in the rain.
I will not sing it to a fox.
I will not sing it in a box.
I will not sing it on a boat.
I will not sing it to a goat.
I will not sing it to a big red caboose
I will only sing it to ole Dr. Suess!
Happy birthday to you the Wizard of Words!
Your stories are the best my ears ever heard.
May your legacy live on for ten zillion years
With your great little rhymes that tickle our ears!
