Her life is not reality though. It must be impossible for her to be real when she owns the world and every single person on the planet kisses her ass. Hell even Perezhilton kisses her ass. Sounds like her brother kissed her ass for years and then got tired of it. It's like he spent his whole life trying to please a woman who would never be satisfied or give him an inch. So, he finally stopped. Sounds like me and my mother, though I don't plan on writing a book about her. I know I gave "Hard Candy" a good review, but my affinity for it has waned. The song "4 Minutes" never grew on me. I still think it's a horribly noisy piece of contrived pop crap. :) That said, I think "Incredible" is one of my all time favorite songs by her. I'm not at all remiss about not seeing her on this tour. I wish she'd performed "Borderline" since 1985, but I saw her do it from the front row on The Virgin Tour, so I'll be fine. Besides, it will be on Showtime, HBO or TV and then DVD soon enough. I'm sure it will be a good show and I'm sure her fans will love it and wonder how a 50 year old woman can still do all that. Hey, Tina's still doing it, so Madonna's got a long way to go to match her. I know, I can hear the keyboard keys clicking away as the legions of Madonna Nation write me hate mail. I guess they miss the part where I had been an avid fan for 26 years. I was listening to Madonna before she was even on the charts. Her and I go WAY back. I'm just no longer infatuated by her. It's not just her, it's pop culture period. I think the gossip sites and the bottom feeder paparazzi ruined them for all of us. Celebrities no longer have an air of mystery about them. Don't get me wrong, I still think she's a phenomenally talented woman and probably the most business savy woman on the planet. She's risen higher and been more consistent than any other female diva in the last 30 years. No trips to rehab, no meltdowns, no bombs--not in music anyway. Hell even her least selling record opened at number one. And for the record, I don't think she fucked A-Rod, but if it turns out she did, I really don't care.
Anyway, my original point was going to be that I was amazed at the backlash I got for trashing Madonna and not one John Mayer or Jason Mraz fan has emailed me. I guess their fans have a sense of humor.
Good news, someone who studies the paranormal said my "haunted" photo is awesome evidence. It's a great picture of ectoplasm! Yay! That's three ghosts I've captured on film.
Tomorrow, Russ and I are having all the boys over for a Xanadu BBQ. It's really just an excuse for Randy to come over and watch the remastered Xanadu on our HDTV, but hey, any excuse to have a party!
Have a good weekend everyone!
