Any gay man who's ever been cruised in a bathroom by a pathetic closet case like Larry Craig knows that he is guilty. Give me one good reason why a straight man who has no interest in other men would reach his hand underneath the bathroom stall occupied by another man who was mirroring his foot tapping. Give me one good reason why he was peaking through the stall door into an obviously occupied stall. Any gay man who reads the story about Sen Larry Craig's arrest for lewd conduct in an airport bathroom knows he's guilty. What straight man would plead guilty to such a charge? In all honesty, I don't give a shit that he was cruising another guy in a bathroom. Being closeted about your sexuality causes you to act out sexually in ways most people would not, but to get caught and publicly deny it means he is a liar in the worst way because he's apparently got himself fooled. And remember this man has voted against every aspect of gay rights that have come across his desk. Self-haters are any community's worst nightmare. If anything, we can at least hope this arrest destroys his political career.
Let's not even get started on Mark Foley's inappropriate IM's with UNDERAGE male pages in Washington. Any man who pursues an underage person for sex is a SEXUAL PREDATOR. Yet Repulicans, including the President, continue to defend these men as reputable members of their political party. I'm not a "republican hater" I just think that any person in authority who has the power to vote against gay rights should be allowed to have their sexuality examined. I'm not for "outing" anyone, as it's a personal decision each person has to make in their own time, UNLESS you have the power to limit or take away rights from the gay community. I only wish the undercover cop in the Larry Craig story had let the sexual advance go just a little further so that the evidence would be undeniable.
Hey Senator Craig.....you admitted your guilt in a court of law....you are guilty. If as a United States Senator, you do not know the law, then you should not hold that office. You pleaded guilty, you can't take it back. Deny yourself all you want, but the writing's on the wall for everyone to read. And every gay man who ever struggled with his sexual identity or was forced to hide it (like me in the Army from 1988-1992) knows you are a liar.
I don't care if you ever admit that you are gay, as that's your cross to bear, but STOP VOTING AGAINST GAY RIGHTS.
The funny thing is, I tried to email Larry Craig via his website, but it will only let you email him if you are a resident of his state. I could have lied and said I was a resident, but that would make me no better than him. I do, however, plan to email my own Senator's and demand he NOT be allowed to vote on gay issues from this point forward. He's a disgrace to all Senator's and most importantly, he's a disgrace to our legal system. For every gay man out there living a happy and productive life, he's now put a very negative stereotype back onto our community.
