Twinkle.......

I'm doing pretty well in the area of creating art. In the month since I quit DJing, I have done 2 paintings, taken some gorgeous photographx and I wrote this song. The first draft had no chorus or title so I sent it to my new friend Lance (http://www.risesfromtheashes.blogspot.com/) in Boston. He's a singer/songwriter there. He took my words and formed them into this structured song. I think it's some of my best work yet. Weekend after next I get to apprentice on two photoshoots, one high fashion swimsuit at a waterfall and one punk rock chic at the beach at sunrise. I'm pretty excited.

In My Dreams (Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star)

Verse 1:

Been such a long time now

Since you crossed my mind yet somehow

There you were last night in my dream

It was just like we used to be

I had so much to say

To you but I never found the way

And I woke and you were gone

So I sat down and wrote this song

Verse 2

Been so many years since I

Have seen your face and still I try

To figure out just why we

Never found a way for us to be

I hate that you still haunt

My dreams and what I want

I don’t think I’ll ever get

Because I just can’t forget

CHORUS:

So…twinkle twinkle little star

How I wonder where you are

Now I lay me down to sleep

In my dreams I guess you'll be

Been such a long time now

Since you crossed my mind yet somehow

There you were last night in my dream

It was just like we used to be

VOCAL BRIDGE

I’ve said goodbye so many times before

But it never seems to close the door . . .

('Cause) I turn around and there you are

Across my sky just like a star

INSTRUMENTAL BRIDGE (2-4 measures)

Verse 3

You shoot right back into my dreams

Was it as good as it seems?

Are we destined for something down

The line or have I finally found

The answer I knew all along

That you and I will never belong

Together in this life

Even though I don’t know why

Verse 4

All the miles and all the years

In between the laughter and the tears

Have all been traveled before

And still I’m standing at the door

I don’t want to dream tonight

Of you or of your light

I don't want to dream tonight

Of you or of your light

OUTRO

No, I don't want to dream tonight

of you or of your light

No, I don't want to dream tonight

of you or of your light
