Yes everyone, it's raining in Maine.....again. We had one of our rainiest May's on record. On Thursday it got very hot and very muggy and then the sky exploded! It was like a mini-hurricane. I expected my dog Jake to freak out, but he was completely unaffected by it. Me, on the other hand was almost giddy since I absolutely LOVE thunderstorms. Today it's just windy and raw, so I'm not leaving the house. I've been watching alien conspiracy and ghost stories on discovery all day. And yes, I do believe that aliens have and do visit this planet and I most-definitely believe in ghosts. :)
I stumbled across Paris Hilton's (<--click on her name to hear it) new single online today. It's definitely likable, but vocally it sounds so much like Gwen Stefani that it's distracting. It definitely has a "The Tide Is High" feeling to it. So it's Paris doing Gwen doing Blondie. So what sounds like a hot threesome is really just a catchy song that lacks any sense of originality at all. Granted it's better than anything that god-awful Hilary Duff has ever put out, as well as being better than anything Lindsay Lohan has sung, but it doesn't make it good. I'll go with "less bad." I'm not a Paris Hilton fan at all. I don't care if her dumb blonde thing is all an act. The last time the "dumb blonde" thing was funny was when Suzanne Somers played Chrissy on "Three's Company." So yes Jessica Simpson, I don't like you or your trashy sister either.
Speaking of the Simpson whores, I was channel surfing the other day and I came across Dr. Phil (whom I loathe) and he was trying to tell some parents not to push their daughter so hard to be a singer since she's only 9 years old. Granted he was giving good advice, but his better-than-thou schitck grates on my nerves. But here's the kicker.....he had Joe Simpson, Jessica and Ashley's pimp--er I mean father was on the show giving advice about raising show biz kids. Hellooooooo!!!! This is the same guy who said he'd have his daughters get plastic surgery if they needed it to be more famous (and Ashley got her nose done recently). Who is this guy to give advice? He pimps out his own daughters. Jessica can sing, but she really over sings every single note that comes out of her mouth. Not to mention the last good song she did was "I Think I'm in Love." The song that is sung over the "Jack & Diane" instrumental. And Ashley, she's just a coat tail rider trying to make some dough. I promise you won't know who she is in 5 years.
I read on CNN.com that the wounded CBS reporter was given a purple heart by another wounded soldier. How cool is that? That soldier is a true hero. Actually every soldier who served in Iraq is a true hero. May God bring them home safely sooner than later.
On another note, my DJ set now starts at 8pm on Fridays instead of 7.
